Critical Dates overview
The Critical Dates module tracks every time-sensitive event in your portfolio. Missed deadlines are the single largest operational risk in aviation deal-making — a lapsed LOI, a missed redelivery window, or an expired lease extension option can cost millions. FlareForge tracks these dates and warns you far enough in advance to act.

Event types
| Type | Description |

| Lease Expiry | When a current lease term ends |
| LOI Deadline | Deadline for a letter of intent to be signed |
| Redelivery Window | Window in which an aircraft must be returned to the lessor |
| Maintenance Event | C-Check, D-Check, or engine shop visit due date |
| LOI Review | Scheduled date to review or extend an LOI |
| Option Expiry | Expiry of a purchase or lease option |
| Payment Deadline | Deposit or payment due date |
| Custom | Any other date worth tracking |
Adding a critical date
Click New date from the Critical Dates page. Required fields:
- Event type — Select from the list above.
- Asset — The aircraft or engine this event relates to.
- Date — The actual event date.
- Description — A short label (e.g. "MSN 3421 — LOI to Atlas Air").
- Linked deal (optional) — Associate with a deal record.
Optional: set a custom reminder window in addition to the default alerts.
Alert windows
FlareForge sends alerts at four standard windows before each event:
- 180 days — Earliest warning. Start thinking about it.
- 90 days — Begin preparing (draft LOI, brief legal, schedule inspections).
- 30 days — Active work required. Deal should be in progress.
- 7 days — Urgent. Escalate if not already resolved.

Dashboard integration
Events within 60 days appear automatically in the Critical Dates section of the dashboard right sidebar. They are colour-coded: red (≤7 days), amber (8–30 days), and grey (31–60 days).
Events beyond 60 days do not appear on the dashboard but remain visible on the Critical Dates page.
