Asset register
The Asset Register (/assets) is your master record of aircraft and engines. Unlike a spreadsheet, it is linked to deals, mandates, critical dates, and the ROI Calculator — so data entered once flows everywhere.
Aviation-native fields
The asset register uses aviation-specific terminology and fields:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| MSN | Manufacturer Serial Number — the primary unique identifier |
| Aircraft type | ICAO type code (e.g. B738, A320, B77F) |
| Variant | Specific sub-type (e.g. 737-800, A320neo) |
| Registration | Current ICAO registration mark |
| Current operator | Airline or lessee currently operating the asset |
| Year of manufacture | Year the aircraft was delivered from the manufacturer |
| Engine type | Engine variant (e.g. CFM56-7B27) |
| Status | Active lease, On ground, Available, In transaction |
| Notes | Free-form — maintenance history, damage notes, quirks |
Adding an asset
Click New asset from the Assets page. MSN is the key identifier — enter it accurately as it is used to link records across deals, mandates, and critical dates.
If your FlareForge environment has FlarePath configured, you can search for an asset by MSN and pull its public data (type, operator, age) automatically.
Linking assets
Once an asset record exists, it can be linked to:
- Deals — The asset the deal is transacting.
- Mandates — The asset(s) covered by the mandate.
- Critical Dates — Events relating to this specific asset.
- ROI Calculator — Pre-populate scenario inputs from the asset record.
All these linkages are bi-directional — from the asset record you can see all deals, mandates, and dates associated with it.
Asset status
Status is a label you manage manually. Common values: Active lease, On ground, Available, In transaction, Being remarketed, Written off.
Status appears as a badge on the asset list and in deal slide-overs when the asset is linked to a deal.
