Alert windows

FlareForge uses a four-window alert system to give you progressively more urgent warnings as a critical date approaches.

The four windows

Where alerts surface

Dashboard sidebar

Events within 60 days appear in the Critical Dates section of the dashboard right sidebar. Colour coding:

  • Red — 7 days or fewer
  • Amber — 8 to 30 days
  • Grey — 31 to 60 days

Daily Digest

Critical dates at the 30-day and 7-day windows are included in the Daily Digest summary. See Daily digest.

Email alerts

Email alerts are sent when an event crosses a window threshold. One email per event per window — you will not receive repeated emails for the same event within the same window.

Email alert delivery requires your organisation to have email notifications enabled in Settings.

Critical Dates page

The Critical Dates page (/critical-dates) always shows all events, regardless of window. Events are sorted by date ascending — soonest first. The quick-filter buttons at the top let you jump to events within 7, 30, 90, or 180 days.

Overdue events

Events with a date in the past that have not been marked resolved appear in a separate Overdue section at the top of the Critical Dates page. An event becomes overdue the day after its scheduled date.

Overdue events do not disappear automatically — you must either mark them resolved (if the event occurred) or update the date (if it has shifted).

Marking events resolved

Click the event and use the Mark resolved button. You can add a resolution note. Resolved events move to the archive and no longer appear in the dashboard sidebar or digest.
