Time tracking
The Time Tracking module (/time-tracking) lets team members log time against deals, mandates, or general administration. It produces utilisation reports showing how team capacity is being spent across the portfolio.
Logging time
Time can be logged two ways:
Manual entry
Click Log time from the Time Tracking page. Fill in:
- Date — Defaults to today.
- Duration — Hours and minutes.
- Category — Deal work, Mandate advisory, Admin, Business development, Other.
- Linked deal / mandate — Optional but recommended for accurate deal-level reporting.
- Notes — What you were doing.
Timer
Click Start timer to begin a live timer. The timer runs in the background as you work in other parts of FlareForge. When you stop the timer, you are prompted to add the category, link, and notes before the entry is saved.
The timer keeps running if you navigate to other parts of FlareForge. It stops if you close the app entirely. For long sessions, check back periodically to confirm it is still running.
Utilisation reports
The time tracking dashboard shows:
- Total hours this month — Across all team members.
- Billable vs non-billable — Split by category.
- By deal / mandate — Hours logged against each deal or mandate, useful for calculating advisory cost.
- By team member — Individual utilisation, useful for managing team capacity.
Reports can be filtered by date range, team member, and category.
Exporting time records
Click Export to download time records as a CSV. The export includes: date, team member, deal/mandate, category, duration, and notes. Useful for feeding into external billing systems or client reporting.
Who can see what
All team members can log their own time. Admins can see time records for all team members. Non-admins can only see their own records.
